Whilst an existing semi-detached Edwardian home was sufficient for raising a young family, new works create a longer term comfortable base to call home. 

Renovated existing areas step down to a new garden-centred living space with two additional bedrooms located upstairs. The upstairs is sensitively composed to both hide behind the existing heritage roof from the street and allow generous views out.

Multiple site complexities were negotiated successfully in the process, including heritage overlays, flooding, overlooking, a covenant and building next to neighbours.

A covenant forbidding the use of metal roof was addressing creatively – the distinctive 15-degree tiled roof angles were carefully brought the living areas to accentuate the garden surrounds (whilst also simplify the structure).
